Exile formed in 1963 looking to play small clubs in Richmond, KY but managed to top both the pop and country charts during their more than 50 year-long career. Their most successful hit, "Kiss You All Over" spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard's pop chart in 1978. In the early 1980's, Exile started to focus on country music. During their run on the country charts Exile has successfully had ten No. 1 singles and many more top 20's. The band will also be releasing two new recording projects in 2018 featuring the newest as well as the greatest of Exile . The five original members of the band reformed in 2008 and continue to tour today. Celebrating 55th Anniversary with their No Limit tour The book- 50 Years of Exile: The Story of a Band in Transition which was released in 2013 and written by musicologist Randy Westbrook, chronicles the band's five decades as recording artists. Exile has toured with artists such as: Aerosmith, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Merle Haggard and George Jones to name a few. Recently Exile was featured on episode 7 of Netflix's hit series "Mindhunter," and can be heard in movies including: "Happy Gilmore," "Man on the Moon," "Employee of the Month," "Wild Hogs," and "Zookeeper." In addition to numerous ACM and CMA nominations for Vocal Group of the Year as well as thier individual musicianship, band members J.P. P ennington and Sonny LeMaire have been recognized as songwriter of the year by BMI while Les Taylor was awarded BMl's Country Award for his songwriting on Janie Fricke's "It Ain't Easy Bein' Easy" In 2013 Exile was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and in 2017 recognized for 55 years.
